Perfectly Rolled Threads

Custom Thread Rolling

Thread rolling is the ideal way to create custom thread solutions with improved strength and fatigue resistance.

What is Thread Rolling?

Thread rolling is a thread forming process during which a rotating hardened steel die presses against the surface of a cylindrical blank, displacing material to form the root and crest of the threads. This produces strong, precise threads.

Why Use Thread Rolling?

Compared to cut or ground threads, rolled threads are often recommended due to their enhanced strength and cost-effectiveness. Cut threads work against the natural grain of the metal, while rolled threads merely reform the existing structures. Rolled threads contain no sharp corners in the thread’s root or tool marks on the thread’s flank. They are also more resistant to wear and stripping, improving screw life.
